In Northwest China's Shaanxi province, the archeological dig at the Duke Zhou Temple site has unearthed a new discovery.

Archeologists from the local cultural heritage authority and Peking University recently discovered a prehistoric cave house complete with roof, fences, and a fireplace. The dwelling dates back some five thousand years to a period renowned for Longshan culture. The ancient house has a floor space of nearly eighty square meters. Facing the southern direction, it stands about two meters tall on the inside. Archeologists are expecting to gain valuable information about the daily life of the ancient, local society.
